Alexzandra Zan Adu is an American songwriter, composer, producer and former record executive with Higher Octave Music, Inc. responsible for establishing the vocal division called OM TOWN until the label was acquired by Virgin Records in 2002. Over the next two decades Zan Adu wrote and recorded over fifty original songs, in addition to working with Grammy award winning artist Narada Michael Walden on his 1995 Producer of the Year "Sending Love to Everyone" tour highlighted by her costume designs and appearance as Lady Liberty in Japan.
Notable mention is extended to Clarence Clemens, Patti Austin, Weather Report, Dennis Banks, Kevin Campbell, and a host of luminaries as part of the tour.
In 2009 Zan Adu also performed at the Walden benefit for the San Francisco Conservatory of Music featuring Sting, Bob Weir, and the Supremes' Mary Wilson and other stellar artists in concert at Davies Symphony Hall in addition to duties as costume designer for the show.
Alexzandra was born in Westchester, NY, the daughter of an award-winning photographer father and beautiful mystic mother. Zan found her inspiration in the arts when she attended an Art and Design high school in Manhattan then continued on to the School of Visual Arts and NYU for film. By the age of seven Zan was already playing guitar and composing songs to sing her little brother to sleep.
A multimedia artist of Mindful Media, Zan's talents in music, art, fashion, and film brought her into the spheres of...
Jon Anderson, Sheila Chandra, Sting, Narada Michael Walden, Jason Mraz, Sheila E, Clarence Clemens, Todd Rundgren, Eric Clapton, and Bob Weir to mention a few.
